Scottish faith leaders ask people to care for others amidst uncertainty

Faith leaders in Scotland have made a joint statement on Coronavirus as nationwide measures are taken to reduce impact.

The Most Rev Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Most Rev Leo Cushley, Roman Catholic Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, The Rt Rev Colin Sinclair, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and Imam Sayed Ali Abbas Razawi, Director General and Chief Imam of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society, issued the following statement on 12 March.

“As faith leaders in Scotland, along with others we are concerned about the spread of the Coronavirus. We therefore invite everyone in our society to be safe themselves, and respectfully remind everyone of their responsibility to others for their health and wellbeing. Society thrives when we look after each other, and so we urge everyone to follow guidelines from the health authorities and we invite people to look out for those who are especially vulnerable and those who are isolated at this time.”
