Get involved in the Meet Your MSP project
Let us know if you are planning a Meet Your MSP event or an MSP is visiting your congregation for any reason. We would love to promote it and encourage other churches to take part also. Take a picture and tell us what you have planned or about an event that has happened! #meetyourmsp
Thursdays in Black
The Thursdays in Black campaign is supported by the World Council of Churches and it calls on people to wear black – to show solidarity with victims and survivors of violence, and to work towards a world without rape and other forms of gender-based violence.
The Thursdays in Black campaign is to empower individuals, churches and communities to challenge harmful attitudes that condone rape and violence.
Globally, one in three women experience some form of sexual or physical violence in their lifetime.
In Scotland, at least one in five women will experience domestic abuse in their life and, on average, three rape cases are reported to the police every day.
Violence against women is a global, widespread human rights violation and is experienced by women and children in every country worldwide. It cuts across both the public and the private sphere, and occurs within the church, as it does within all walks of life.
