Challenge Poverty Week 2018 is on 1-7 October and SCPO would like to know what churches are doing this week to challenge poverty.

Examples could be work that is ongoing such as helping to run a Food Bank or hosting a community meal, and SCPO would love to hear from you so that the work being done to challenge poverty is recognised as part of the national campaign.

Specially designed worship resources for the week and for the Sunday of Challenge Poverty Week have been produced and are available for download here

Short videos have also been produced for each day of Challenge Poverty Week, exploring solutions that challenge poverty and they can be viewed and promoted here

SCPO are part of the steering group for the national Challenge Poverty Week campaign which is run by The Poverty Alliance. Logos, template press and social media materials can be downloaded here if you would like to brand your activity as part of Challenge Poverty Week.

The memes above for each day of Challenge Poverty Week can be downloaded here

The campaign can also be followed via the @SCPO_ Twitter using the hashtags #ChallengePoverty and #AyeWeCan

In 2017, SCPO produced the resource, ‘Prayers to Confront Poverty in Scotland’ with a prayer for each day of the week from different Christian denominations and groups for Challenge Poverty Week.

If you would like to promote this resource it would be very much appreciated, and we would really like to know if you find it useful and/or if your congregation is doing something in particular to mark Challenge Poverty Week. Let us know here
